Ms.King (my ‘old lady name’ buddy) – Couldn’t find out what the ‘Champagne’ was all about …. but, I did learn that she worked at a Record Company as a cleaning lady … and a producer discovered her while she was singing in the bathroom. A happily ever after lol.
So .. of course when I hear a really good song … I go look at the credits.

Kashif, was a member of the BT Express (BT for Brooklyn Trucking,…… and no, they were not truck drivers), he was their bass/synth player for a couple of years before going solo. Just gonna do a little copy + paste here: “He is said to have been Arista Records’ attempt to respond to Warner Bros. Records’ Prince.” …… that is quite the competition. (:

My first taste of Champagne:
One day, during the dawn of the CD Burner … before I had one of my own .. I would pay this kid to burn CDs for me … You all know the deal .. lol anyways … I don’t know where it was or how it happened, but I heard a Jennifer Lopez cover of this song and I added it to a playlist …. when I got the CD and went to listen to it, it was Ms.’Champagne’ singing. He told me he couldn’t find it … so he put the original on there instead. I wasn’t trippin …. though I still can’t find this “cover” anywhere …. :\ maybe it doesn’t exist lol.
Anyways … the past couple of weeks, I’ve really been into old school funk/dance/R&B tunes. – Normally when I am wishing for a time machine, it is to go forward in time ……. but lately it’s been to go back in time … to listen to all the classic hits in their prime. Oh yeah! Oh yeah! … lol
On that note, my Christmas wishlist:

- 2 Turntables & 1 Microphone
- Those boots I tried on at that place that didn’t have my size
